The gospel refers to all the teachings that Jesus preached and demonstrated himself. The gospel spoken of in the Bible refers to God's absolute 'law' that punishes those who do not obey it. The vast majority of Christians take the gospel lightly without knowing anything about its absoluteness. To put it simply, the gospel to them is a concept closer to 'exhortation' than 'command'. But the gospel taught in the Bible is not like that. Rather, it is more accurate to see it as closer to a 'command' than a 'recommendation'.

God's command makes our spiritual eyes open to see the spiritual world. God said he will not give wisdom to those who don't keep his commandments. So they who keep Sunday service not the Sabbath cannot understand the truth of the Bible although they read or study it much.
