[Exodus 20:4-5]

"You shall not make for yourself a carved image or any likeness of anything in heaven above or on the earth below or in the waters under the earth; you shall not bow down to them or serve them."

According to this commandment, making any form of carved image or likeness is prohibited. This includes any representation, regardless of its location in the heavens, on the earth, or under the waters. Furthermore, one must not bow down to or worship such images.

This commandment does not make any exceptions for the cross. Even the cross is considered an idol, as it takes on a specific form. Therefore, if you are a person who follows God's commands, you should not erect a cross. This is the reason why the Church of God does not set up crosses.
