In the beginning, God blessed the seventh day and made it holy.

The fourth commandment of the Ten Commandments instructs us to 'remember the Sabbath day and keep it holy.'

So, how long should we observe the Sabbath?

Let's examine this through the words of Jesus.

Two thousand years ago, Jesus' disciples inquired about the Second Coming and the end of the world.

While Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, his disciples approached him privately, asking, "Tell us, when will these things happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?" [Matthew 24:3]

In Jesus' response, there were references to the Sabbath. Pray that your flight will not take place in winter or on the Sabbath. For then there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now—and never to be equaled again. [Matthew 24:20-21]

Why did God instruct us to pray that the final tribulation not occur on the Sabbath?

When the ultimate tribulation arrives, it signifies our inability to offer God perfect worship. Doesn't this imply that we should observe the Sabbath until the end of the world?

Many present-day Christians assert that the Sabbath was only relevant in the Old Testament era and isn't essential in the New Testament era.

If their claim is valid, then Jesus would not have said, 'Pray that your flight will not take place on the Sabbath.'

However, Jesus clarified,

"It is not unnecessary to observe the Sabbath in the New Testament Age."

These assertions contradict the teachings of Jesus.

Hence, we must continue to sanctify the Sabbath day until the end of the world.
