Many Christians think that they can go to heaven just by believing in God and living well. Of course, living a good life by doing good to others and contributing to society deserves to be praised. However, that does not immediately qualify one for salvation. From a spiritual perspective, we are all sinners who committed a crime worthy of death from heaven and were cast out to this earth.

Luke 19:10 For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.

Matthew 9:13 But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord

Can a prisoner who is in prison for a crime punishable by death be absolved of the death penalty just because he did some good deeds for other prisoners in prison and come out of prison and live freely? That doesn't happen.
Since we are sinners who came down to this earth after committing a serious sin that is punishable by death from heaven, we cannot return to heaven simply by doing good deeds to others and living a good life. Even if you live a good life without committing any sins, it is nothing more than maintaining the status quo without adding any more harm. Because we were kicked out of heaven because of our sins, we must receive forgiveness for our sins in order to return to heaven.

God Himself came to this earth to give us forgiveness of sins. And He forgave us of our heavy sins by shedding His blood on the cross on our behalf. Therefore, we can never receive forgiveness of sins or go to heaven without the blood of Christ (Ephesians 1:7, 1 Peter 1:18-19). The specific way we can receive forgiveness of our sins is through the New Covenant Passover.

Matthew 26:17-28 On the first day of the Festival of Unleavened Bread, the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Where do you want us to make preparations for you to eat the Passover?” He replied, “Go into the city to a certain man and tell him, ‘The Teacher says: My appointed time is near. I am going to celebrate the Passover with my disciples at your house.' ”....While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat; “This is my body.” Then he took a cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.

Therefore, as spiritual sinners, we must keep the Passover of the New Covenant in order to receive forgiveness of our sins and go to heaven. The idea that you can go to heaven if you live a good life comes from spiritual ignorance, not knowing why we live in the flesh on this earth.

Let us keep the Passover of the new covenant established by God at WMSCOG and go to heaven together.
