The bible teaches that we are the aliens and strangers on this earth. Our home is in heaven. When we finish life on this earth, we will go back to our home heaven. And also the bible teaches us what kind of faith we should have to go back to heaven. Through the life of the Israelites in the Old Testament, God is teaching us lessons that we should know to go back to heaven.

God promised the Israelites that He would give them Canaan as their home. In the time of Joshua they conquered Canaan as it was promised by God and settled down on the land. However, because of their sins and evil-doing, they were cast out from their home and lived as aliens and strangers in other lands. However, God remembered them and let them go back to their home again.

Through this history of Israel God teaches us how we can go back to our spiritual home heaven. We should learn lessons through the life of the Israelites to go back to our heavenly home. Then why were they cast out from their land? And to whom did God promise that they would go back to their home?

Leviticus 26:14 “‘But if you will not listen to me and carry out all these commands, 15 and if you reject my decrees and abhor my laws and fail to carry out all my commands and so violate my covenant, 16 then I will do this to you:……33 I will scatter you among the nations and will draw out my sword and pursue you. Your land will be laid waste, and your cities will lie in ruins

This actually happened in the time of Jeremiah. God sent his prophet over and over to teach the Israelites the commands of God and they might obey them. But they did not listen. Because of their disobedience and sins, they were conquered by Babylon and taken as captives in the land of Babylon. However, God was grace and planned them to come back to their own land. Then what kind of people could come back to heir home land?

Leviticus 26:40  “‘But if they will confess their sins and the sins of their ancestors—their unfaithfulness and their hostility toward me, 41 which made me hostile toward them so that I sent them into the land of their enemies—then when their uncircumcised hearts are humbled and they pay for their sin, 42 I will remember my covenant with Jacob and my covenant with Isaac and my covenant with Abraham, and I will remember the land.

Those who confess their sins and repent could go back to their home again. This is the lesson given to us as spiritual Israelites. God teaches us to confess our sins and return to God with the heart of repentance. Then God would open the way to our home and lead us to our heavenly home. When we realize that we are sinners and ask God for the forgiveness of sins by keeping the Passover. Then God will allow us to go back to heaven. I give thanks to Father and Mother for allowing us to go back to our heavenly home.

We have to remember Daniel. When he was living in the land of Babylon as an exile, he confessed his sins and all the sins of the Israelites. And when he did, God took pity on them and remembered his promise to Abraham. And he opened the way to their home again. Likewise, when we confess our sins to God and repent, God will surely open the way to heaven for us.
