There are so many reasons that we must follow the words of God. One of the reason is that all the commands and laws from God is for our eternal happiness. God doesn't want to be obeyed nor dominate us. God love the children of God so much and He want us walk the path of faith without confusion.

Dt 8:1-2 Be careful to follow every command I am giving you today, so that you may live and increase and may enter and possess the land that the LORD promised on oath to your forefathers. Remember how the LORD your God led you all the way in the desert these forty years, to humble you and test you in order to know what was in your heart, whether or not you would keep His commands.

God told to Israelites who walked the desert for forty years that all the works that He had done were for testing their hearts. All the people of Israel wanted to enter the land of promise, but not everyone could enter there. Only those who obey the words of God could. During forty years of desert was the process that God divide those who obey and those who do not.
The land of promise, Canaan represent eternal heaven where we desire to go. Now we all are walking the faith of desert now. During the period that we walk the desert, God divide His people who obey and those who don't. Now is the time to obey the words of God.

Then, what should we do to obey the words of God?
Dt 8:16 He gave you manna to eat in the desert, something your fathers had never known, to humble and to test you so that in the end in might go well with you.

Unless we humble ourselves we can never obey the words of God. Because we easily follow our thoughts and our judgments rather than follow God's thoughts and God's judgments.

1 Pe 5:5 ... All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because, "God possess the proud, but gives grace to the humble.

God the Father and God the Mother humble themselves so They wear the flesh only sinners deserve to save us sinner who destined to die. If we are children of God, shouldn't follow them? Let's be humble ourselves rather than proud and become God's children who resemble God the Father and God the Mother.
