2,000 years ago, Jesus came to this earth . He preach the gospel, saying “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near”. Through these words, Jesus reminded His people of the kingdom of God. Even though our body lives on earth now, our spirit must go back to the kingdom of heaven where it came from.

Php 3:20-21 But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly awaya Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.

If our citizenship is in heaven, we are the people of God. Than, how can get the citizenship of heaven?

Jer 31:31-34 “The time is coming,” declares the Lord, “when I will make a new covenant with the house of Isral and with the house of Judah...This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israle after that time,” declares the Lord. “I will put my law in their minds and write it on their heart. I will be their God, and they will be my people. No longer will a man teach his neighbor, or a man his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ because they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest,” declares the Lord. “For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more.”

God said to us, “I am your God, and you are my prople,” when He established the new covenant as a new law for us. God also told us, “You who keep the new covenant! Your citizenship is in heaven.” So, we are God’s people, and our country is in heaven.
