After studying the subject, the church established by the Root of David…

The weather is getting cold. The snow which fell to the ground a few days ago still covers the street. It’s a really piercing cold winter. I want to post about my study in the WMSCOG. Today, let me introduce about the subject, the church established by the Root of David at the World Mission Society Church of God (WMSCOG).

When I heard about the Root of David for the first time, I wondered what that was. What is the meaning of the Root of David? Does it mean that there’s a church established by the Root of David? With a little doubt, I focused on the study. The first scripture I saw was Revelation Chapter 5:1 and it says that no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth could open the Bible or even look inside it.

Revelation 5:1 “But no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth could open the scroll or even look inside it… Then one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals.” 

It is true. The more I read the Bible, the more I find it difficult to understand. Especially, there are many parables which are difficult to understand. I had read the Bible by myself and studied at other churches, however whenever I asked them a difficult question, they always told me to “Pray first then read it again.” There are many denominations because they read the Bible and interpret it in different ways. When I understood this, I could agree with the word that only the Root of David is able to interpret the Bible. Then, who is the Root of David? Next, he showed me the prophecy in Hosea, which says that we must seek David in the last days.

Hosea 3:5 “In the last days, the Israelites seek David and receive his blessings.” 

It means that only those who seek David and fear him will receive God’s blessings. Seek David and fear him? Ah, that’s right! The Bible says we must seek the Root of David and fear him because only he is able to interpret the Bible. Truly the Bible is amazing. The book of Revelation and Hosea were written in different ages, by different authors, however it prophesied the same thing… When I kept wondering who the Root of David is? He gave me the answer.

Revelation 22:16 “I, Jesus… the Root of David.” 

Aha~ Jesus is the Root of David!!! In other words, only Jesus is able to interpret the Bible perfectly. I happened to hear that the Bible was written by prophets who received the Holy Spirit. Just as I thought it is only Jesus, God, who is able to interpret the Bible… However, Jesus already ascended to heaven 2,000 years ago and is not on this earth anymore… Where can we find Jesus?  When I asked him this question, he explained it to me kindly. He explains that the book of revelation was written after Jesus ascension; therefore it refers to Jesus who will come. By this reason, prophet Hosea also prophesied that we must seek David in the last days. Aha~! Jesus, who will come in the last days, is the Second Coming Jesus and we must meet Him. After hearing his explanation, it across my mind that I must meet the Second Coming Jesus, the Root of David, and be taught by Him. Then, has the Second Coming Jesus already come? He has already come? Because He has already come, the brother who was in front of me is able to teach me, right? Please teach me quickly. After that, he explained to me the reason why the Second Coming Jesus should come to teach the Bible by quoting Luke 12:49 and Jeremiah 5:14.

Luke 12:49 “”I have come to bring fire on the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled! But I have a baptism to undergo, and how distressed I am until it is completed!” 

Jeremiah 5:14 “Therefore this is what the LORD God Almighty says: “Because the people have spoken these words, I will make my words in your mouth a fire and these people the wood it consumes.” 

Here too, God uses many parables. It is much easier to understand if He says, “I have come to deliver the words of God, however they disappeared, therefore I must come again.”, but He said, “I have come to bring fire but it was consumed, therefore I must come again to ignite it…” I thought the Bible is difficult to understand because it uses parables like this. But what was surprising was that Jesus should undergo a baptism to deliver the words of God. Undergo a baptism again? When I asked him the question, he said that it is the prophecy of the Second Coming Jesus who comes in the flesh.  Of course! Baptism should be conducted with water. However, I had never heard that a soul, not the person themselves, receive baptism.

After hearing this, I was very curious. Then, who is the Root of David? Next, he shows me Isaiah 55:3.

Isaiah 55:3 “Give ear and come to me; hear me that your soul may live. I will make an everlasting covenant with you, my faithful love promised to David.” 

An everlasting covenant, God’s faithful love promised to David.  When I heard this, a thought came to mind. The new covenant Passover which I had studied when I met the members of the Church of God for the first time. Whenever I studied, they emphasized the Passover again and again; therefore I guess the everlasting covenant would be the Passover. My guess was not wrong. He explained that the everlasting covenant is the Passover.

Hebrews 13:20 “May the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep” 

Luke 22:20 “”This cup (Passover wine) is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you. 

He explained kindly that the only blood which can bring back Jesus from the dead is the Passover of the new covenant; therefore it is the everlasting covenant. Then, the one who will restore the Passover is the Root of David, the Second Coming Jesus. Right? Now everything was clear. I was wondering why the Second Coming Jesus must come but after his study, I fully understood it.

After reading some more verses, he asked me a question at the end of the study. He said, ‘There are other people who are not the Root of David, interpret the Bible and teach it. What will happen to them?’ And I answered, ‘They will fail to be saved,’ and he showed me 2 Peter chapter 3.

2 Peter 3:16 “He writes the same way in all his letters, speaking in them of these matters. His letters contain some things that are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do the other Scriptures, to their own destruction.” 

WHAT! These were scary words. People distort the Bible and fall to their own destruction…  I have determined that I should obey the words of the Second Coming Christ, the Root of David who gives us eternal life through the everlasting covenant according to the word of the Bible. Though he didn’t explain to me about the matter who is the Second Coming Jesus, I am expecting to hear about that at the next study. When I study at the World Mission Society Church of God (WMSCOG), everything is surprising. They always answer my questions in detail and explain the meaning of the Bible by using its mated verse; it was an amazing and joyful experience. I can’t wait for the next study.
