God’s coming on the clouds

The first time I’d studied the topic about “God’s coming on the clouds” in the World Mission Society Church of God (WMSCOG), I did not understand how clouds could mean flesh in the Bible. I was just like the religious leaders who foolishly took the message of God literally 2000 years ago, without realizing that God speaks in parables for his chosen children. It is only after I started learning to preach this sermon that I began to ask myself the following enlightening questions:

1. If God comes down to this Earth on the clouds, and starts gathering his elect, who would ever deny him?

Matthew 24:30-31 They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory… and they will gather his elect …

2. If God comes down to the Earth on the clouds, how can people in Northern and Southern America, Africa and Europe see him at the same time?

Matthew 24:30… They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory.

I could not just ignore the above contradictory questions. There was just no way to explain the contradictions without realizing that clouds mean flesh.

To clarify this matter, let’s see some verses in the Bible.

Jude 1:12 These men are blemishes at your love feasts, eating with you without the slightest qualm—shepherds who feed only themselves. They are clouds without rain, blown along by the wind; autumn trees, without fruit and uprooted—twice dead.

Here, shepherds who feed only themselves are false shepherds, that is, false prophets. Although they are wicked, they are men and live on this earth just like us. What does the Bible liken them to? They are likened to clouds without rain. Therefore, clouds here refer to men. And the rain stands for the water of life, that is, words of God, in the Bible.

Amos 8:11 “The days are coming,” declares the Sovereign LORD, “when I will send a famine through the land–not a famine of food or a thirst for water, but a famine of hearing the words of the LORD.”

False prophets do not have the words of God, therefore God likens them to the cloud without rains(water).

Let us find out one more verse.

Proverbs 25:14 Like clouds and wind without rain is a man who boasts of gifts he does not give.

A man who boasts of gifts he does not give is one person among those who are in the flesh. However, the Bible says that that kind of man is like clouds without rain. It means that they too are false prophets who have no words of God. Like this, the Bible likens men to clouds.

As we have seen through two verses as examples, according to the Biblical way of expression, Jesus’ coming in the flesh is expressed as His coming with the clouds in the New Testament.

Then, why the Second Coming Jesus should come in the flesh before the judgment day? The reason is as follows;

The purpose of Jesus’ coming into this world is to give eternal life to humans who are destined to die forever in this sinful world. For this, Jesus shed His blood on the cross as a sign of the new covenant to bring eternal life and became a sin offering. After the death of the apostles, the new covenant, the truth of life, began to be changed by Rome which held a great power over the world; and during the Dark Ages the truth was totally destroyed.

Revelation 13:6-7 He opened his mouth to blaspheme God, and to slander his name and his dwelling place and those who live in heaven. He was given power to make war against the saints and to conquer them. And he was given authority over every tribe, people, language and nation.

A beast coming out of the sea was given authority to make war against the saints and to overcome them. As a result, the new covenant—the truth of life—was taken away, and God’s sheep were scattered to deserts and mountains (Da 8:11-12). Thus, the new covenant which Jesus had established at His first coming was trampled on during the Dark Ages, and God sent His servants many times into the world to restore the new covenant, the truth of life, but they couldn’t do it. Jesus Himself must come again in the flesh to restore the truth and to seek His people.

By this reason, the Second Coming Jesus, Christ Ahnsahnghong has come in the flesh and restore all the truth of the New covenant to save us. I truly give thanks to Father Christ Ahnsahnghong and Heavenly Mother New Jerusalem for opening my spiritual eyes to clearly understand this parable.

John 8:47 He who belongs to God hears what God says
