Let’s study a few things of the many prophecies of the Bible. First, we have the prophecy of Cyrus, the king of Persia. In the Old Testament times, the Israelites were captives in Babylon for 70 years. Cyrus, the king of Persia, destroyed Babylon and set Israel free. And the Bible already prophesied about this in detail.

Ezr 1:1-3 In the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, in order to fulfill the word of the Lord spoken by Jeremiah, the Lord moved the heart of Cyrus king of Persia to make a proclamation throughout his realm and also to put it in writing: “This is what Cyrus king of Persia says: “ ‘The Lord, the God of heaven, has given me all the kingdoms of the earth and he has appointed me to build a temple for him at Jerusalem in Judah. Any of his people among you may go up to Jerusalem in Judah and build the temple of the Lord, the God of Israel, the God who is in Jerusalem, and may their God be with them.

Here, Cyrus who was the king of Persia didn’t believe in God. Then why did he say that Jehovah the Savior had given him all the kingdoms of the earth? And why did he repeatedly give all praises and glory to God? The answer is in the Bible.

Isa 45:1-3, 13 “This is what the Lord says to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I take hold of to subdue nations before him and to strip kings of their armor, to open doors before him so that gates will not be shut: I will go before you and will level the mountains; I will break down gates of bronze and cut through bars of iron. I will give you hidden treasures, riches stored in secret places, so that you may know that I am the Lord, the God of Israel, who summons you by name. I will raise up Cyrus in my righteousness: I will make all his ways straight. He will rebuild my city and set my exiles free, but not for a price or reward, says the Lord Almighty.”

This book of Isaiah was written about 170 years before Cyrus freed Israel. However, this book recorded the prophecy of Cyrus. God prophesied Cyrus’ name and things he would do even before he was born. If there was a nook where our names and things we would do were written aforehand, and if we read that book one day, how amazing that would be? That’s why Cyrus who saw the prophecy about himself gave praises and glory to God.

There’re many prophecies in the Bible. By studying one by one, we can have strong faith and receive Christ Ahnsahnghong who prophesied all of them. Let’s have firm faith in Christ Ahnsahnghong and keep in step with God Ahnsahnghong.
