Through the event of the cursed fig tree, we will discern the time of Jesus' second coming. Christ has promised to return. When will it be? The bible provides the precise answer.

1. Learn the Parable of the Fig Tree

Matthew 24:32 "Learn the parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near."

When you see leaves sprouting from the fig tree, Jesus said that His arrival is near. What does the phrase "when its leaves sprout" signify?

2. The Curse of the Fig Tree

Mark 11:12-14 "The next day, when they had come out from Bethany, He was hungry. Seeing a fig tree having leaves from afar, He went to see if perhaps He would find something on it. When He came to it, He found nothing but leaves, for it wasn't the season for figs. Jesus said to it, 'May no one ever eat fruit from you again.' And His disciples heard it."

Mark 11:20-21 "In the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots. Peter, remembering, said to Him, 'Rabbi, look! The fig tree which You cursed has withered away.'"

Jesus sought fruit from the fig tree but found none. He cursed the tree for lacking fruit, and it withered. Because it wasn't the season for figs, naturally, there were no fruits. Yet Jesus cursed the fruitless tree. Why did Jesus curse the fig tree? What does the withered fig tree signify?

3. Figless Tree Represents Israel

Luke 13:6-7 "He spoke this parable. 'A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came seeking fruit on it and found none. Then he said to the keeper of his vineyard, 'Look, for three years I have come seeking fruit on this fig tree and find none. Cut it down; why does it use up the ground?'"

Jesus preached the gospel in Israel for three years. Despite the people's claims of faith, they crucified Him. The fruitless fig tree symbolized the Israelites.Toward the fruitless tree, Jesus said, "Cut it down, why clutter the ground?" Due to their sin of crucifying Jesus, Israel faced destruction in A.D. 70.

4. The days of Siege Foretell Destruction

Luke 21:20-24 "When you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation is near... They will fall by the edge of the sword and be led away captive into all nations. And Jerusalem will be trampled by Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled."

Jesus accurately prophesied Israel's destruction. "When you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, its destruction is close," He said. In A.D. 70, Israel was destroyed by Roman armies.

5. Fig Tree Will Sprout Again

Luke 21:24 "Jerusalem will be trampled by Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled."

Matthew 24:32 "Learn the parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near."

Israel wasn't eternally doomed."Until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled," they said.

And as in Jesus' fig tree parable, it would sprout leaves again. This prophecy came true when Israel miraculously regained independence in 1948.

So, when will Jesus return? Seeing the fig tree sprout leaves means the Son of Man is at the door.

It means realizing that the prophecy is being fulfilled. Jesus should return in 1948. According to this prophecy, the One who comes with all truth is here.
