The Feast of Tabernacles and the Blessing of the Holy Spirit
WMSCOG celebrates the Feast of Tabernacles, a feast commanded by God to be observed. The Feast of Tabernacles is the last of the seven feasts in Three times and is observed from the 15th to the 22nd of the 7th month in the sacred calendar.
The Feast of Tabernacles is a feast celebrated not only in the Old Testament era but also in the New Testament era by first coming Jesus Christ, and also celebrated by the apostles according to Jesus' teachings.
The reason why WMSCOG observes the Feast of Tabernacles is because there is God's promise contained in the Feast of Tabernacles. The Feast of Tabernacles is a day of joy when we receive the Holy Spirit, God's constant minister.
God said that he would only give rain to those who kept the Feast of Tabernacles. In the Bible, rain means the Holy Spirit.
Zechariah 14:16-19 Then the survivors from all the nations that have attacked Jerusalem will go up year after year to worship the King, the Lord Almighty, and to celebrate the Festival of Tabernacles. If any of the peoples of the earth do not go up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the Lord Almighty, they will have no rain. If the Egyptian people do not go up and take part, they will have no rain. The Lord will bring on them the plague he inflicts on the nations that do not go up to celebrate the Festival of Tabernacles. This will be the punishment of Egypt and the punishment of all the nations that do not go up to celebrate the Festival of Tabernacles.
The prophet Zechariah wrote that rain would fall on those who celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles, and Jesus said that he would give the Holy Spirit to those who celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles.
John 7:2, 37-39 But when the Jewish Festival of Tabernacles was near,......On the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “Let anyone who is thirsty Come to me and drink. “Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.” By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive. Up to that time the Spirit had not been given, since Jesus had not yet been glorified.
Only those who keep the Feast of Tabernacles in any era can receive the blessing of the Holy Spirit, or water of life, from God.
Let us celebrate God's commandment, the Feast of Tabernacles, together at WMSCOG. And let us become children of God who receive the blessing of the Holy Spirit granted by God and enter heaven.
