In the last day, people will have either the mark of God or the mark of the beast. The mark of God is the sign given to God’s people who are to be saved. And the mark of the beast is the sign given to those who belongs to the devil or Satan since the beast represents the organization of Satan. Then what is the mark of God and what is the mark of the beast? How can we receive the mark of God and receive salvation?

Revelation 13:16 It (the beast) also forced all people, great and small, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hands or on their foreheads, 17 so that they could not buy or sell unless they had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of its name.

What is the mark of the beast given on the hands and foreheads of people? To understand this, first let us think about the mark of God? What is the mark of God? According to the bible those who will receive salvation will also receive certain marks on their foreheads.

Ezekiel 9:3 Now the glory of the God of Israel went up from above the cherubim, where it had been, and moved to the threshold of the temple. Then the Lord called to the man clothed in linen who had the writing kit at his side 4 and said to him, “Go throughout the city of Jerusalem and put a mark on the foreheads of those who grieve and lament over all the detestable things that are done in it.

Apostle John also testifies about the same mark of God which people will receive in the last days before the Day of Judgement.

Revelation 7:1 After this I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding back the four winds of the earth to prevent any wind from blowing on the land or on the sea or on any tree. 2 Then I saw another angel coming up from the east, having the seal of the living God. He called out in a loud voice to the four angels who had been given power to harm the land and the sea: 3 “Do not harm the land or the sea or the trees until we put a seal on the foreheads of the servants of our God.”

Then what is the seal or the mark God will put on the foreheads of people who are to be saved from the destruction? The bible teaches that the laws and commands of God are the mark God put on his people.

Exodus 13:9 This observance(the Passover) will be for you like a sign on your hand and a reminder on your forehead that this law of the Lord is to be on your lips. For the Lord brought you out of Egypt with his mighty hand. 10 You must keep this ordinance at the appointed time year after year.

In this verse God commanded his people to have the mark of the Passover on their hands and foreheads. Actually, when God’s people kept the Passover, the blood of the lamb worked as the mark through which the destroying angels could recognize the house and they passed over the houses so that they could be saved.

Exodus 31:17 It(the Sabbath Day) will be a sign (or mark) between me and the Israelites forever, for in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day he rested and was refreshed.

Here God commanded his people to keep the Sabbath day as sign or mark between God and His people. Those who kept the Sabbath Day holy could receive the mark of God.

All the laws of God are given as signs or marks to God’s people that they may be recognized as those who are to be protected from the last disaster. Then what is the mark of the beast? According to the bible there are two different laws in this world.

Mark 7:6 He replied, “Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you hypocrites; as it is written: “‘These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. 7 They worship me in vain; their teachings are merely human rules.’ 8 You have let go of the commands of God and are holding on to human traditions.”

The first one is the commands of God through which we can receive the mark of God. And the second is the commands or traditions coming from man. When we keep the traditions of man, we unknowingly receive the mark of the beast. When those who claim to be Christians keep man’s traditions such as the Sunday worship, or the Christmas, they are receive the mark of the beast. And they come to belong to Satan.

We should keep the commands of God to receive the mark of God. We must have spiritual eyes to distinguish the commands of God and the commands of man.
