In my thought, one of the greatest human’s desires is to live a everlasting life.

Qinshihuangdi (the first Emperor of Qin Empire) is best known for seeking the elixir of eternal life or the herb of eternal youth
in order to live a everlasting life.
Even though he all the way sent his messengers to fine it,
unfortunately he failed to get it.

Obviously no one could live a everlasting life in a physical way.
What gives us eternal life spiritually is no other than God’s words through
which we can get salvation. By eating Jesus’ flesh and drinking His blood,
we’re promised to live eternally.

Jn 5:53~54 Jesus said to them, “I tell you the truth,
unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you.”

And we can eat Jesus’ flesh by the Passover bread and drink His blood by the Passover wine

Mt 26:17~28 The disciples came to Jesus and asked,
“Where do you want us to make preparations for you to eat the Passover?”
While they were eating, Jesus took bread, gave thanks and broke it,
and gave it to his disciples, saying,
“Take and eat; this is my body.”
Then he took the cup, gave thanks and offered it to them
saying, “Drink from it, all of you.
This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.”

There has been no the elixir of eternal life or the elixir plant.

From the creation we, who’re planned to be saved,
are designated to meet God Elohim, the Subject to eternal life.
