The words “the Son of Man coming in a cloud” is a prophecy that tells us what form Jesus Christ will come again. Many Christians believe that when Jesus comes in the clouds, the world will soon be judged by fire.

[Luke 21:27-28] At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near."

This is what Jesus prophesied 2,000 years ago about the Second Coming at the end of time. When Jesus comes in the clouds, there is no mention of immediate judgment by fire. He simply said, “Redemption is drawing near” Other translations read “Your redemption draweth nigh” In other words, when you see Jesus coming in a cloud, be Aware of him and receive salvation. Let's look at the same thing in Matthew's Gospel.

[Matthew 24:30-31] At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, ... see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory. ... they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.

There is Jesus's task after coming in the clouds. It is to gather the people of God who will be saved.
When He comes in the clouds, as many Christians think, He will not judge the world with fire but rather seek out people who will be saved from the world.
Why does Jesus come in the clouds before judgment and gather the chosen people? Jesus said that when He comes again, He will not be able to find people of the right faith.

[Luke 18:8] I tell you, ... However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?

This means there is no one true faith in this world. If the Second Coming of Jesus conducts judgment upon his arrival in the clouds, then who can be saved? That is why Jesus said he would come to this earth once again to gather the people who will be saved prior to the judgment.

Then, what is the 'cloud' that Jesus mentioned when he comes again? Are these clouds floating in the actual sky? If you are looking up at the sky while awaiting the Second Coming of Jesus, you are under a significant delusion. The clouds that Jesus mentioned are not the actual clouds in the sky. This can be confirmed by examining the example of Jesus who came 2,000 years ago.

About 600 years before Jesus came, Daniel(the Old Testament prophet) prophesied that Jesus would come to this earth as below.

[Daniel 7:13-14] ... one like a son of man, coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into his presence. He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all peoples, nations and men of every language worshiped him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed.

Who is the 'a son of man' who received authority, glory, and sovereign power?
[Matthew 28:18] Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
[John 17:10] All I have is yours, and all you have is mine. And glory has come to me through them.
[Luke 22:29] And I confer on you a kingdom, just as my Father conferred one on me

Jesus is the one who fulfilled the prophecy that he would come in the clouds and receive authority, glory, and kingdom. However, Jesus did not come on a cloud in the sky but was born as a “man”(Matthew 1:18-21). He came wearing a physical body, not a real cloud. Through the records of the Bible like this, we can easily guess what the Second Coming Jesus will look like when he comes again in the clouds.

While many Christians are waiting for Second Coming Jesus and looking at the sky, the Second Coming Jesus has already come to this earth to testify and reveal Himself. And he is gathering his chosen people.

[Matthew 24:30] ... They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory.
[Luke 17:22] The time is coming when you will long to see one of the days of the Son of Man, but you will not see it.

The Bible says that we can see Jesus coming on a cloud and gathering the people, but we cannot see Jesus coming with fire (Isaiah 66:15-16, 2 Thessalonians 1:7-8). Before coming with fire, we must listen and follow him who comes as a man and gathers the chosen people.
