The bible says that whoever is thirsty must come to the Spirit and the bride for the water of life. The only thing that quenches our thirst is the water of life.

John 4:13 Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, 14 but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”

People are thirsty and try to satisfy their thirst with many different things. Some make money; some knowledge. Some desire for power; others authority. Some try to get wisdom; others physical strength.

However hard they may try, nothing can satisfy thirst. They get even more thirsty. King Solomon already proclaimed that all the efforts people make to quench their thirst is meaningless, chasing after the wind. Whatever he had done on this earth to quench his thirst were meaningless.

Ecclesiastes 2:10 I denied myself nothing my eyes desired; I refused my heart no pleasure. My heart took delight in all my labor, and this was the reward for all my toil. 11 Yet when I surveyed all that my hands had done and what I had toiled to achieve, everything was meaningless, a chasing after the wind; nothing was gained under the sun.

Even though he did everything he could to get satisfied, he concluded that everything was meaningless.

Ecclesiastes 1:8 All things are wearisome, more than one can say. The eye never has enough of seeing, nor the ear its fill of hearing.

Then why can we not satisfy our thirst? It is because we are trying to get the wrong thing. We do not know what it is that we have to seek and where to go to get it. Since we are seeking the wrong thing in the wrong place, we can never get what we want.

Then what is it that we truly seek? Where should we go to find it? God teaches that we have to find one thing to quench our thirst. Nothing but one can ease our yearning which we have deep in our heart. Then what is it that lies deep in our hear and causes us for this insatiable thirst?

Ecclesiastes 3:11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.

What lies deep in our heart and cause this thirst is the desire for “eternity”. Since we are seeking eternity in our deep heart, the physical and temporary things on this earth can never satisfy us. Such things as money, power, authority, wisdom, knowledge which we gets from this world does not satisfy us, rather it makes us more thirsty.

The only thing that can make us satisfied is the eternity God put in our heart. From this eternity in the heart we come to have the yearnings for eternal things—eternal life, eternal kingdom of heaven, eternal inheritance. Without knowing what we need, we used seek things on this earth to ease our desire.

2000 years ago, many people followed Jesus for many reasons: some for food, others for the miracles. They believed that Jesus could satisfy the thirst they had on this earth such as food, power, justice, healing. They did not realize what they really needed in their heart. They were blind and they could not see. However, the disciples of Jesus were not like them. They remained with Jesus even though it meant that they had to give up their lives. They willingly followed Jesus.

How could they remain with Jesus to the end? It was because they could be quenched of the thirst they had with Jesus. Jesus taught them what was it they need to seek and where they could get it. Through the teachings of Jesus they could get what they had been yearning—the desire for the eternity that lied deep in their heart.

John 6:67 “You do not want to leave too, do you?” Jesus asked the Twelve. 68 Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. 69 We have come to believe and to know that you are the Holy One of God.”

The words of eternal life or the water of life that Jesus gave them finally gave them what they had been longing for their whole life: eternal life. They could overcome everything with the hope for the eternity. Nothing on this earth could stop them—fear, hunger, even death. Now they are comforted in the eternal kingdom of heaven.

We also should follow the same path as them seeking for the eternal things in heaven. Only that sense of eternity can satisfy our thirst and allow us to lead a meaningful life on this earth. The water of life coming from the Spirit and the bride can satisfy us. Father and Mother are calling us to come to drink from the water of life. Whoever is thirsty must come to Christ Ahnsahnghong and Heavenly Mother for the words of eternal life.
