Pedaling in the Gospel (WMSCOG)
One day, the young adult members of my Zion had a get-together in a park. We rented tandem bicycles to ride in the park. A sister and I were one team; she sat on the front seat and I on the rear seat, and we put our feet on the pedals. However, our bicycle swerved side to side when we tried pedaling, causing us to lose our balance. We had barely pressed down on the pedals and moved forward, but still our bike kept wobbling violently. Other sisters looked so happy when they were riding their bicycles, but we just kept frowning. We decided to watch how they rode their bicycles. From the start, they put their feet on the pedals in the same direction and kept their pedals moving at the same speed. But for us, we were pushing down on the opposite pedals from each other.
So we made a promise to step on our left pedals first. Then our bicycle moved forward very well. As we learned how to ride a tandem bicycle after many twists and turns, we shared our realizations and talked about many other things while riding the tandem bike.
I think that running the path of the gospel is just like riding a tandem bicycle. We all know that we have to move forward and we also have the same destination. However, if we do not unite our minds but just insist on our own opinions, we will swerve and lose our balance and we will fail to go forward.
In pedaling the gospel, if we put ourselves in the position of other members and keep pace with them, encouraging them when they have a hard time, we will arrive in heaven much faster than when we go it alone. I truly give thanks to Father Ahnsahnghong and God the Mother for allowing me to dwell in the World Mission Society Church of God (WMSCOG) and really understand what it means to love my fellow brothers and sisters as the spiritual family of heaven.
