The lesson from harvesting potatoes
Last summer, I was harvesting potatoes at my mother-in-law’s home. When I dug up some potatoes, there were a couple of rotten ones among the many clustered on the stem. I was curious about the odd potato which was empty and broke into pieces when I touched it. I asked my mother-in-law about the odd potato. Then she told me that the odd potato is a ‘seed potato’.
The seed potato which is buried in the ground will sprout after a month. The sprouts’ roots in the ground get their nourishment from the seed potato before they are able to get nourishment for themselves from the ground. Come to think of it, the potatoes which had sprouts from the empty and thoroughly rotten seed potato were big and sturdy. However, the potatoes which had sprouts from the half-decayed seed potato were small and weak. I was even able to find a seed potato which had remained intact without any fruit. The teaching of God ‘unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds’ came to mind when I saw the potatoes from the empty and thoroughly rotten seed potato were big and sturdy. I think I can bear strong and beautiful fruit if I sacrifice myself thoroughly. There are many spirits who come as fruit from all over the world because of the sacrifice of Heavenly Father Ahnsahnghong and Heavenly Mother. I want to be a kernel of wheat in WMSCOG that falls to the ground and bears fruit a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.
