Above all, you must understand that…

After talking with many people, I realized that most people do not believe in the Bible. Many think it’s just a book written by men. Moreover, I was surprised when I found that even many Christians did not believe in the Bible.

Since it’s written, “The Word was God (John 1:1),” how can we believe in God without the Bible containing the Words of God? So, the Bible says that there is something that we must understand first:

Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of the Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation. For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit. (2 Peter 1:20-21)

In other words, we must understand first that the authentic author of the Bible is God. How can we know that the Bible contains the Words of God?

You may say to yourselves, “How can we know when a message has not been spoken by the LORD?” If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the LORD does not take place or come true, that is a message the LORD has not spoken. That prophet has spoken presumptuously. Do not be afraid of him. (Deuteronomy 18:21-22)

The Bible is the book of prophecy. By studying the prophecies wherein, we can understand that the Bible is not a mere book written by men but contains the Words of God.

God let us know that the Bible contains His Words through the prophecies and their fulfillment. There are many prophecies in the Bible. For example, the books of the Old Testament contained the prophecies about Jesus. Jesus is the Messiah because He fulfilled all prophecies of the Old Testament. The prophet Isaiah wrote how Jesus would suffer (comp. Isaiah 53:1-8 and Matthew 27:26 & John 19:34) and how Jesus would die and be buried:

He was assigned a grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death… (Isaiah 53:9)

According to this prophecy, Jesus was crucified along with two robbers (Matthew 27:38) and was buried in the tomb of a rich man from Arimathea, named Joseph (Matthew 27:57-60.) The Bible also foretold that Jesus would be born through a virgin (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:18) in Bethlehem (Micah 5:2; Luke 2:1.)

Further, if you study the prophecy of the book of Daniel and the book of Revelation, you will surely understand that the authentic author of the Bible is God.

If all prophecies of the Bible have been fulfilled, how about the ones which are to be still fulfilled? They will be accomplished when the time comes, won’t they? The Bible says that the saints will stand on Mount Zion with the Lamb in the last days (Revelation 14:1.) About the saints who will be saved, it’s written:

This calls for patient endurance on the part of the saints who obey God’s commandments and remain faithful to Jesus. (Revelation 14:12)

The Lamb who appears in Revelation 14 is not the First Coming Jesus but the Second Coming Jesus. Therefore, the saints in this age must obey God’s commandments and remain faithful to the Second Coming Jesus. Today, this prophecy is being fulfilled in the World Mission Society Church of God (WMSCOG.) The saints of the Church of God keep God’s commandments such as the Sabbath and the Passover and have faith in the Second Coming Jesus – Christ Ahnsahnghong.

How can we know Christ Ahnsahnghong is really the Second Coming Jesus or not? Since the Bible testifies about Christ (John 5:39,) we should look into the Bible to understand if He is true not. Christ Ahnsahnghong fulfilled all prophecies of the Bible including the prophecy of King David and the prophecy of the fig tree. If you visit one of the World Mission Society Church of God and study the prophecies, you will clearly understand that He is the Second Coming Jesus all mankind have been waiting for. I give thanks to Christ Ahnsahnghong who made me realize the Savior of this age through the Bible.
