Gift of Endurance Received In WMSCOG
AR Ji, Korea
Whenever I go to the World Mission Society Church of God (WMSCOG) after work, I feel like flying. WMSCOG, Zion, is a place of rest where my weary soul finds comfort and peace. Honestly, up until recently my heart felt heavy. It was because I bore no fruit during the long one year. I preached the gospel fervently, believing firmly that God would surely allow me to bear fruits. However, as I had no visible results, my body and mind grew weary. I became more frustrated when I compared myself with other members who produced good gospel results. In the meantime, there was the “Summer Young Adult Preaching Report.” Since it was the opportunity which God gave the young adults like the dew of the dawn to bless them, I renewed my determination and gained new strength by praying together with other young adult members of Zion every day. Then one day, I had a sincere conversation with a member, and it helped me reflect upon my childish and immature faith; actually, I just desired to bear fruit without having the mind of God, who considers each and every soul more precious than the whole world. I was also lacking in patience and complained against God when I was just a little bit tired and weary. Because of that, I felt so sorry toward God that I shed tears of repentance.
From that day on, even though I bore no immediate fruit or result, I tried to wait with patience. Of course, I still found it difficult to endure those difficult times. Whenever I felt weak and troubled, I thought about Father and Mother: ‘Since my heart aches this much over just a single soul, how much more heartbroken and distressed Father and Mother must have felt!’ A week later, on the Sabbath day I went out to preach the Word after praying earnestly as soon as the morning service finished. Then I met one soul. After listening to God’s word, he was reborn as a child of God without hesitation and kept the Sabbath. The brother was a college student; he came to Zion every day to study the Bible. When he had no time to study the Word, he stopped by Zion to pray on his way to school. Then he bore fruit just eight days after receiving the truth, and that day he shared his fragrance of Zion with me. “Recently, I was very exhausted and distressed, and I felt that I should seek God. I needed somebody to lean on and wanted someone to hold me. So, I just thought of going to any church, and just then I met you. Actually, when I heard your preaching, I followed you to Zion while thinking to myself: ‘Let me just go and pray there once.’ I didn’t really expect to receive this blessing of salvation! Thank you for teaching me this precious truth and guiding me to the Church where the true God dwells.”
While listening to his story, I realized this: ‘Truly he is a member of our heavenly family, whom God has prepared. To allow me to bear this precious fruit, God has let me wait for such a long time.’ As I thought of this, I was overwhelmed with gratitude. Now the brother reveals his strong ambitions for the gospel, saying that he wants to preach God’s word to other people by studying the Bible diligently. I believe that he will become a great worker of the New Covenant before long. When the members gave me words of congratulations and asked me the secret of bearing good fruit, I could not say anything. I just held my head low; I was ashamed and sorry towards God because I felt that I myself was receiving the glory, which God deserves to receive. If God did not take care of my weary soul, I would not be able to realize my shortcomings nor understand the mind of God. I give all glory and praise to God for always giving strength to this weak child so that I will not fall, and for granting me the great gift of endurance.
